East Lansing February ‘23

East Lansing February Twenty Three

Our lives are further fraught, a new report

Of right wing actor bearing heavy arms,

Innocent bystanders of the wrong sort,

A university town sounds alarms.

“Elite indoctrination” stokes their fears

Long pumped into sad lives without a care

For how their words would cause such tears

By murderous loners, public beware.

To now, we’re targets, forced to seek defense

And arm ourselves, avoid so many places,

And still we’re picked off like cans on a fence:

Aggression, now armed with a gun, erases.

No volta here, as none could be expected.

Turn out the vote, the right to life respected.
